Brazilian Export Business Thrives in Time of Crisis

Beautycare Brazil projects that exports grew by 34.5% in the 1st quarter of 2022, with hair products staying in the top spot.

Beautycare Brazil, the Internationalization Project of the Brazilian Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrances Industry, scored a 34.5% growth in exports in the first four months of 2022. The performance totals a turnover of $52.43 million which represents 21.3% of the Hair & Beauty sector’s exports as a whole.
Developed by ABIHPEC (Brazilian Association of the Cosmetic, Toiletries and Fragrances Industry) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), the Beautycare Brazil project featured 54 exporting companies, which together sold over 100 products to 99 destinations worldwide, with Argentina being the main target market.
In April alone, Beautycare Brazil exported $11.65 million, equal to a 53.4% increase compared to the same period last year. In the same month, 13 new companies joined the project, adding up to a total of 66 participating companies. Hair products remain the leaders in exports of finished products.
Gueisa Silvério, International Business Manager of ABIHPEC, commented: “The figures demonstrate the strength of Brazilian CT&F products and of our industries that, even in light of numerous challenges, such as unavailability and high costs of international freight, ended the period with significant growth in results compared to the previous year.”
