The 24th edition of the three-day long event attracted more than 3,500 exhibitors and over 10,000 brands from 40 regions and countries.
This past May China Beauty Expo filled the Shanghai New International Expo Center with 260,000 sqm of exhibition area covering 27 halls and 50 pavilions. Top international players including L’ORÉAL, SHISEIDO, PROCTER & GAMBLE, JOHNSON & JOHNSON, UNILEVER, together with prominent Chinese brands like SHANGHAI JAHWA, JALA, PECHOIN, CHICMAX, PROYA, OUSIA and LOVEFUN.
Known also as CBE, the China Beauty Expo is effectively a one-stop platform for distributors, retailers and beauty industry professionals seeking to learn and find a hands-on experience with a large range of beauty products and manufacturing solutions in Asia. Indeed, about 521,300 industrial professionals visited the 3-day show which this year adopted the theme of “Innovation and Fashion”.
Over the years, CBE has become increasingly international thanks also to their collaboration with Asean Cosmetic Association (ACA), which helps attract international qualified buyers, over 200 of whom were invited from India, USA, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, Laos, and Singapore to participate and scout new products and technologies.
For this year’s edition, Thailand was the Country of Honor of CBE, in consideration of the growing consumption of Thai cosmetics in China. The Thai Cosmetic Manufacturers Association, Thai-Chinese and Southeast Asia Business Trade Association, and CBE made a joint effort to showcase the latest Thai beauty products and trends inside the Thailand Pavilion in Hall E7. Visitors were welcomed by more than 50 prestigious Thai beauty brands, including long-time favorites like MISTINE, SNAIL WHITE, BEAUTY BUFFET, ROYAL, VISSKIN, but also new brands like JOLIENA PLUS, KISAA and DENTISTE.
As beauty products made in Japan are known to be emblematic of quality, safety, and trendy, they are also quickly increasing their shares on the Chinese and Asian markets. Indeed, the presence of Japanese companies exhibiting at CBE has increased four-fold. There were the usual colossals like SHISEIDO, KAO and KOSE, as well as numerous other smaller brands and newcomers with equally solid reputations.
There was an increase in the presences of European and American brands this year at China Beauty Expo, making it necessary to open a new pavilion to accommodate the stands of the various brands and their visitors.
China Beauty Expo (CBE) is now gearing up for the celebration of its 25th anniversary edition at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from May 19 – 21, 2020. CBE 2020 is planning on bringing together 500,000 trade visitors from 85 countries and regions and coming from all channels, including department stores, shopping malls, supermarkets, specialty chain stores, beauty salons, nail salons, SPAs, hair salons, plastic surgery hospitals and e-commerce outlets.
