Uncertain Times Force BeautyAsia Singapore to Postpone until 2022

The decision has been made to cancel the greatly anticipated BeautyAsia Singapore event, originally due originally due to take place from March 1st – 3rd 2021. The 24th edition of the trade fair will now be held from March 2nd – 4th 2022 at Suntec Singapore.

Despite other fairs in the Far East having already opened as early as in the 2nd semester of 2020, most observers would have expected a physical edition of the Singapore event to be held in 2021. However, the organizers, in tune with local government guidance, decided that since several countries are unfortunately experiencing a new wave of Covid19 infections this would lead to further uncertainty regarding business travel and border restrictions.

Singapore faces a different situation compared to larger countries such as China, Korea, and Japan: without visitors coming from other countries, the local market is simply not big enough to justify the opening of such an important event.

“It was a tough decision as we recognize the importance of this exhibition as the meeting point for international industry professionals to further enhance their business branding and expansion,” comments Gillian Loh, Project Manager. “Singapore has kept the Covid-19 situation under control. Local transmission numbers are low to none. Even so, Singapore will continue to maintain tight precautions and safety management measures to prevent any reoccurrence as far as possible.”

In the coming months, the organizers plan to formulate a proposal for exhibitors, to help them maintain levels of brand communication and details of product innovation in the area. Networking opportunities will be provided making BeautyAsia the gateway to boundless connections and new possibilities.
